Jeep® Wrangler: What’s New for 2022?

The iconic Wrangler has been a part of the Jeep_® lineup for decades. The adventurous SUV is known for its outstanding capability and rugged good looks. For 2022, Jeep_® has taken the Wrangler to the next level with upgrades inside and out.

One of the most exciting updates for Canada is the availability of the Jeep_® Wrangler Rubicon 392 and its explosive 6.4-litre V8 engine that delivers 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This model offers water traversing up to 82.5 cm as well as improved approach and departure angles, maneuverability, and suspension articulation.

Other than the Rubicon 392 model, new features for the 2022 Wrangler extend from its wheels and paint colours to the advanced technology in the cabin. On the outside, 33-inch tires on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels are standard while Silver Zynith replaces the outgoing Billet Silver colour. The Uconnect® 4C system with an 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, and nine Alpine® speakers are standard on Sahara and Rubicon models.

When it comes to comfort, the Wrangler gets its first-ever competition-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters. The wheel has an aggressive rim section for ergonomic comfort as well as extra grip on rough terrain. Also keeping you and your passengers comfortable and secure are the performance-inspired, integrated upper bolsters on the seats.

Meet the 2022 Jeep® Renegade Lineup

The Renegade is the perfect Jeep_® for city dwellers thanks to its unique, urban style and its at-the-ready capability. For 2022, the Renegade arrives with a handful of exciting updates, from new standard safety and tech features to improved performance.

What’s new for 2022?

Every 2022 Jeep_® Renegade will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.3-litre engine that’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Together, you can expect to achieve 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. All models also come with 4×4 so you can travel off-road with added peace of mind.

When it comes to safety, new standard features include LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, and Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection systems.

Inside, a beautiful 8.4-inch touch-screen display with GPS navigation is standard. This system includes a one-year SiriusXM® radio subscription, a one-year SiriusXM® Guardian subscription, and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capability. Rounding out the interior upgrades is the inclusion of a premium cabin air filter on all trims.

If you’re looking to customize your Renegade, the Altitude Package (available on North model) adds black accents — inside and out. This includes badging, exterior mirrors, wheels, and headliner. You’ll also get lush leather-trimmed seats with Ski Grey accent stitching.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Rejoin Jeep® Lineup

Two iconic Jeep_® vehicles are rejoining the brand’s lineup. The 2022 Wagoneer and 2022 Grand Wagoneer will offer premium luxury, space, and capability while paying tribute to the brand’s storied past.

The Wagoneer has strong appeal for families thanks to its eight-passenger capacity. It also boasts a best-in-class towing capability of up to 4,536 kg and will be offered at three different trim levels.

For the Grand Wagoneer, high-end luxury is at the forefront. It presents up to 190 cm of total screen display area throughout the cabin and features the first-ever Fire TV for Auto integration with Alexa, giving you access to hundreds of thousands of movies, TV shows, and apps on the go. Its first-in-segment 26-cm passenger screen provides navigation, exterior vehicle cameras, and entertainment.

Each of these models also come equipped with the off-road-readiness you expect from a Jeep_®. Three 4×4 systems are available: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II with active low range and rear electronic limited slip differential. Both models are designed with up to 61 cm of water fording and a Selec-Terrain® traction management system.

Under the hood of the 2022 Wagoneer, you will find a 5.7-litre V7 engine that pumps out 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. The Grand Wagoneer uses a 6.4-litre V8 engine that puts out 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep® Wrangler Gets New Mopar Half Doors

The Jeep_® Wrangler is known for its open-air driving experience, and the brand is looking to enhance this with an all-new factory option – the Dual-Door Group.

Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) from Mopar worked to create this new package that includes new Wrangler half doors, making this rugged vehicle even more iconic.

This new group will be available on both two- and four-door Wrangler models as part of an original new-vehicle purchase in the United States and Canada. It includes both full and half doors, allowing you to outfit your Wrangler with the doors that fit your mood.

The half doors will work when equipped with any of the following features: power mirrors, blind-spot detection, passive and non-passive entry handles, and power locks. It’s a quick swap from full to half doors, using the existing hinge locations and the same wiring connections for easy install.

For 2021, the Jeep_® Grand Cherokee is adding a new three-row option: the Grand Cherokee L. Along with the extra space, this SUV also gives drivers legendary 4×4 capability, a refined interior, and advanced technologies for confident travel around Toronto and beyond.

The 2021 Grand Cherokee L can seat up to seven passengers, making it a convenient option for families that like to head off-road on the weekends. The moment you have been waiting for has finally arrived. Jeep_® has announced the most capable and powerful Wrangler yet: the 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392.

The all-new Wrangler Rubicon 392 boasts a 6.4-litre V8 engine that pumps out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. With this powertrain, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, which is 40 percent faster than a Wrangler Rubicon with a V6 engine. This is the first time in nearly 40 years that the Wrangler will have a V8 engine option.

Paired to this V8 engine is a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission with standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Along with this increased power, the Rubicon 392 will offer better off-road readiness. Its approach and departure angles are greater, and its suspension articulation is more refined. This Jeep_® can also traverse water up to 32.5 inches and offers 10.3 inches of ground clearance.

Other off-road features including upgraded frame rails, a two-inch factory lift, heavy-duty brakes, and FOX high-performance shocks. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 is also Trail Rated®, having undergone extensive testing to earn this badge.

All-New 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Brings the Power

Ram is raising the bar for power with the all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX pickup truck. This light-duty truck has set new benchmarks for both power and performance in its segment, coming with a standard 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI® V8 engine that’s ready for anything.

The Ram 1500 TRX delivers a jaw-dropping 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque with this supercharged V8, giving it a top speed of 190 km/h. These numbers make it the most powerful mass-produced truck on the global market, turning the heads of truck lovers everywhere.

Along with this power, the TRX has a range of off-road features that make it ideal for adventures outside of Toronto. For instance, it benefits from up to 813 millimetres of water fording, a maximum towing capacity of 3,674 kilograms, and a maximum payload rating of 594 kilograms.

The unique Ram 1500 TRX suspension system comes with active damping and is inspired by desert off-road racers. It also features front and rear 2.5-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, which were designed exclusively for the TRX and can traverse harsh terrains at speeds up to 161 km/h.
