Autumn Car Care Tips for Your Jeep®

Autumn Car Care Tips for Your Jeep® | Toronto, ON

Soon enough, the weather will be a bit chillier here in Toronto. Now is the perfect time to check in on the health of your vehicle. Here are some autumn car care tips for your Jeep® to ensure it runs smoothly in the changing seasons.

Test the battery

Extreme heat can deteriorate the strength of a vehicle’s battery, much like extreme cold. Check under the hood for any signs of corrosion on the battery terminals and clean those off safely. You should also perform a health test on the battery to see if it needs to be replaced. If you’re not sure how to do this, bring your Jeep® to our knowledgeable team at Downtown CDJR.

Check the tires

Leaves, rain, and snow all make roads slippery. The tires of your Jeep® ensure that you have enough traction to get through all of that. Check the air pressure of the tires to see if they are over- or underinflated. Either issue can cause problems, so you’ll want to be sure that you’re adhering to the manufacturer’s suggested air pressure.

Replace the windshield wipers

After sitting in the sun, your Jeep®’s windshield wipers might be dried out and cracked. If you notice any tears or rips in the rubber pieces that touch the windshield, you will want to have those replaced as soon as possible. Leaving worn down windshield wipers attached could eventually scratch the windshield glass and create poor visibility when it rains.

Here at Downtown CDJR, our goal is to make sure you’re ready for anything that comes your way when you’re driving in your vehicle. Stop by and see us in Toronto for any questions you may have or for any of these maintenance issues.

Stellantis Is Investing Billions to Make EVs in Canada

Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe | Toronto, ON

In a move to create a more sustainable future, Stellantis recently announced its plan to invest $3.6 billion CAD to help progress the production of EVs in Canada. This aligns with the company’s long-term “Dare Forward 2030” plan as well as its previous $45 billion CAD investment in electrification and software on a global level.

“Today’s deal on made-in-Canada electric vehicles is yet another investment in our workers and in our future,” said Prime Minister Trudeau. “We’re building a world-class Canadian auto industry, an innovative economy and a clean, strong future for everyone. This is what a healthy environment and a healthy economy looks like.”

The money from Stellantis will go toward its Windsor and Brampton Assembly Plants in Ontario as well as the expansion of its Automotive Research and Development Centre (ARDC). Starting in 2023, the Windsor plant will move to support production of a new multi-energy vehicle (MEV). The Brampton plant is expected to undergo a complete transformation in 2024 to further support the company’s electrification plans.

Stellantis will be expanding the ARDC by adding the first Battery Lab in North America. There, the company will further develop BEV, PHEV, and HEV cells, modules, and battery packs. The 100,000-square-foot facility is expected to be complete by the end of 2023.

The Wrangler is one of the most iconic Jeep® vehicles. When Jeep® introduced the plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe, the rave reviews continued to roll in. In fact, this efficient off-roading vehicle was recently named the “Best 4×4” by the 2022 Women’s World Car of the Year Awards (WWCOTY).

“With the Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep brand has taken a giant step forward in many ways, but the most important is its commitment to a more sustainable environment,” said Marta García, executive president of WWCOTY. “It is very much appreciated that one of the true SUVs left on the market has opted for hybridisation. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s commitment to the environment is of decisive value for the Women’s World Car of the Year.”

This is the 12th year of the WWCOTY awards, with a jury of expert journalists from 40 countries. There were initially 65 vehicles among the six categories: Urban Model, Family SUV, Large Car, Large SUV, Performance Car, and 4X4. The winners of each category were aptly announced on International Women’s Day.

With the Wrangler 4xe, you can expect to go up to 35 kilometres on zero-emission, electric-only propulsion.
