If you love the Jeep Wrangler but wish it was available with a diesel engine, you’re in luck — the rugged brand recently announced the all-new 2020 Wrangler EcoDiesel. New for the 2020 model year, it will be the most efficient Wrangler yet and boast the highest torque rating in the model’s lineup.
The new 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine, producing 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, will be available on four-door Wranglers. It will come standard with Engine Stop-Start technology to increase its efficiency. The diesel V6 engine will come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission to help it tackle both on- and off-road terrain.
Every Wrangler EcoDiesel model, which includes the Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon, will come equipped with Dana 44 front and rear heavy-duty axles. They will also come with 40 individual shift maps to help optimize shift points and provide stronger fuel-economy ratings, performance, and 4×4 capability.
These models will also come with two available transfer cases — the Rock-Trac two-speed transfer case on Rubicon models and the Command-Trac part-time transfer case on the Sport and Sahara models.
The 2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel will go on sale soon, and you’ll have the opportunity to test-drive it right here at Downtown Chrysler.
